  1. Global Trashcan for Dopus Version 2.1 Public Version 1.0
  2.  
  3. What is it:
  4. it's a small dopus module that adds an appicon on the desktop where you can drop files.
  5. It works like the Recycle bin on Windows 95
  6.  
  7. Features:
  8. * You can drag files dirs. on the icon and they will be moved to the destination 
  9.   you have selected.
  10.  
  11. * the files will be automaticly deleted by age after the amount of days you choose.
  12.  
  13. * You can recycle the files and they will be moved to its originale place.
  14.  
  15. * You can select if you want to empty the trash every time you start (if there are any files there) 
  16.  
  17. * You can choose the icon you want to use
  18.  
  19. * You can change the name to what ever you like
  20.  
  21. * You can snap shot the icon position
  22.  
  23. * You can doubleclick on the trash icon and you will see
  24.   name on the files in trash the size of the files, and
  25.   finally, but not least the path where the file came from.

  27. * You Can Drop files in the lister.
  28.  
  29. * You can drag files from the lister, the file will then
  30.   be moved to the place you drop it.

  32. * Device eject like Mac

  34. * It will ask if you want to empty trash if Diskspace is less than 5 meg

  37. The Move command in c:

  40. Dopus 5.8

  43. Installation:
  44. Use the install script.
  45. Or do it manually, but remember to run the config first.
  46. and copy ENVARC:trash.prefs to ENV:

  48. The Config:
  49. * Ask At Startup - The script will ask if you want to empty the trash dir on every startup.
  50.  
  51. * How Many Days - How many days a file will stay in the trash dir. the script will delete files
  52.   older than the amount of days you have specified in the config.
  53.  
  54. * Name on the Appicon - The name that the appicon should have.
  55.  
  56. * Trash icon path - the full path to the icon you will use as appicon.(don't use the def_trashcan icon in ENV:)

  58. * Trash Path - The directory where the files will be moved.(Full path.)
  59.  
  60. * Toolbar path - Usally only the name on the toolbar, but if you have placed the toolbar somewhere
  61.   else than Dopus5:buttons then specifie the full path.

  63. * THERE IS A LITTLE BUG IN THE CONFIG IT WILL SAY THAT THE
  64.   ASK AT STARTUP CHECK MARK IS ALWAYS ACTIVE.

  67. Why did I Do it:

  71. You can drop files from the desktop, but the icon will not disepear until you reset the icons. (FIXED)
  72. You can drop left out's, but same thing will happen the icon will not disepear.

  74. Devices will be ejected if you drop them in the lister or on the icon
  75. the supported devices is:
  76. atapi.device
  77. asim_atapi.device
  78. scsi.device
  79. ramdisk.device(will come back after reboot)
  80. trackdisk.device
  81. mfm.device (nothing happens)

  85. Ram: is not possible to eject

  87. * DON'T DROP ASSIGNS ON THE LISTER OR ICON
  88. * DON'T EVER COPY FILES DIRECTLY INTO THE DIR YOU HAVE CHOOSEN AS TRASH DIR
  89. * DON'T EVER JUST COPY FILES FROM THE TRASHDIR
  90. * DON'T EVER USE THE NORMAL DOPUS COMMANDS ON THE FILES IN THE TRASH DIR

  92. the script will probely do somthing strange (or crash) if you don't follow this rules.

  94. At the moment you can doubleclick on files in the lister,
  95. but not on directories.

  112. The script is working on my computer, but if you have any
  113. kind of problems please tell me....
  114. A good tip: Hide the trash dir so you can't mess with it.
